Japan has a serious love affair with Kit Kats (the country sells a zillion flavors like strawberry cheesecake, purple sweet potato, and wasabi that aren't offered in the States), but when Japan's largest coffeehouse Pronto launched Kit Kat croissants, the entire world took notice. Each Kit Kat croissant contains two Kit Kats (milk chocolate, matcha, or white chocolate) baked into a flaky croissant and topped with powdered sugar. What's incredible is that the treat only costs 180 yen (less than $2). While you may not be able to venture to Japan anytime soon, we took the liberty of re-creating this insanely delicious-looking hybrid using Kit Kats and crescent dough. See the original Kit Kat croissants down below and watch the video above to try the hack at home! They share all of the elements of the childhood favorite without stoking a campfire or deep-frying. Watch the video to see how easy they are to make. Adapted from Handle the Heat S'mores Baked Donuts IngredientsFor the donuts: 1 cup all-purpose flour 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons butter, melted 1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon plain yogurt 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 large egg 1/4 cup granulated sugar 1/4 cup light brown sugar For the topping: 1 cup marshmallow fluff 2 tablespoons graham cracker crumbs Special equipment: Nonstick 6-Cavity Donut Pan Directions Lightly grease your donut pan and preheat oven to 350ºF. Sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, nutmeg, and salt into a large mixing bowl. Into another bowl, whisk together butter, yogurt, vanilla, egg, and sugar. Gently mix the flour mixture into the wet ingredients and stir until incorporated. Mixture will be thick. Scoop the batter into a piping bag or ziplock bag and snip the corner to make it easier to pour into the donut pan. Pipe batter evenly between each well and bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until the donuts spring back when touched. Let cool completely on a wire rack. To frost the donuts place marshmallow fluff in a microwave-safe bowl and heat until smooth, about 40 seconds. Be careful to not over-heat or let the marshmallow fluff spill out over the sides of the bowl. Dip the top of the donut into the marshmallow fluff and sprinkle with graham cracker crumbs.
