Sony’s PlayStation 4 dominated console sales in the U.S. over May, its fifth consecutive month outpacing Microsoft’s Xbox One. Sony has beat Microsoft in every single month since the two released their next-generation consoles in November last year. According to NPD Group data, total consumer spending on gaming software and hardware surged 52% to $586 million, with console sales up 95% to $187 million. Video game sales will heat up in the second half of the year. Unveiled at the recent Electronic Entertainment Expo were big-budget titles including 'Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare', 'Destiny', 'Assassin’s Creed Unity' and 'Battlefield Hardline'.
