Singer Janis Ian has added her voice to the many who are speaking out against Bill Cosby since numerous sexual assault allegations have come out against the comedic icon. Ian penned a Facebook post this week, sharing her own story about her personal experience with Cosby. She wrote that her story began when her hit, “Society’s Child,” dominated the charts when she was only sixteen years old. She then made an appearance on the variety show “The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour.” Shortly after the taping, Ian was informed that she had been blackballed from appearing on television. According to Ian, her manager explained that it was Cosby who made the campaign against her. Ian wrote, “Cosby, seeing me asleep in the chaperone’s lap, had made it his business to ‘warn’ other shows that I wasn’t ‘suitable family entertainment,’ was probably a lesbian, and shouldn’t be on television."
Wyatt Cenac will soon be seeking answers to the truth that’s clearly out there. The “Daily Show” vet is one of many who has joined the ranks of TBS’ comedy pilot “The Group." Hailing from Conan O’Brien’s Conaco shingle in association with Warner Horizon Television, the project focuses on Cenac’s curious, accomplished and serious-minded staff journalist (also named Wyatt) in a town called Beacon who finds himself pulled into the fringe world of alien abductees, or “experiencers,” as they like to be called. Cenac is repped by UTA.
Regal Entertainment won't be signing up for Paramount's plan to redefine theatrical windows any time soon. On Thursday, Regal CEO Amy Miles criticized a deal between Paramount and two theater chains, AMC Entertainment and Cineplex, that will make Scout's Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse and Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension available digitally 17 days after they all but leave theaters. Miles said the economics of the deal did not make sense to Regal and that the company's screens would be reserved for movies using a traditional release. She did, though, praise Paramount for allowing exhibitors to weigh in on its unusual arrangement with AMC and Cineplex.
Two police officers who corroborated a seemingly false account of the fatal shooting of Samuel DuBose in Cincinnati were previously implicated in the death of an unarmed, hospitalzsed and mentally ill black man who died after he was “rushed” by a group of seven University of Cincinnati police officers. University of Cincinnati officers Eric Weibel and Phillip Kidd are the same men who, in a formal report, supported officer Ray Tensing’s claim that he was “dragged” by DuBose’s vehicle on 19 July.
"Everything is fine" between Caitlyn Jenner and Kris Jenner, a source told E! News on Thursday. 59-year-old, Kris, had visited her ex at her Malibu home on Tuesday for what marked the first meeting between the two since Caitlyn transitioned from a man to a woman. The source told E! News that "everything is fine" between the former couple but that the meeting was needed. Caitlyn and Kris have not commented. The two, who shares daughters 19-year-old, Kendall Jenner, and 17-year-old Kylie Jenner, were married for 23 years and finalized their divorce late last year. They split in October 2013, more than a year and a half before the Olympian, formerly known as Bruce Jenner, revealed in a TV interview her plan to transition.
