Two weeks ago, Israel boasted of shooting down an Hamas drone. Now, it's Hamas' turn to show off what looks like a downed Israeli drone. Hamas released a new video on Monday in which a masked militant holds what appears to be a damaged Israeli reconnaissance drone they claim was shot down in Gaza. And while the drone does look like a Skylark , a small unmanned aerial vehicle developed by the Israeli firm Elbit Systems, aviation expert and blogger David Cenciotti is not convinced Hamas could have shot it down. He told Mashable via email: "Shooting down such a small drone it's anything but simple: these are really small objects with a small thermal signature and extremely silent. Shooting them down it's not impossible, but it's hard."
Monday night’s premiere of New Line’s “Vacation” at the Regency Village in Westwood left no doubt that the comedy had easily earned its R rating. “I get to say the F word a lot,” admitted 11-year-old Steele Stebbins on the red carpet. “I got used to swearing.” Christina Applegate, who plays Debbie Griswold, the spouse of Ed Helms‘ Rusty Griswold, however, said that it’s difficult for her to be offended after portraying Kelly Bundy for a decade on “Married…with Children.” “Nothing shocks me,” she asserted. “This film is like a distant dirty cousin to the others.”
The Bundys are baaack! Yes, a Married With Children reunion is in the works. David Faustino, who played Bud on the sitcom, says he's developing a "spin-off" of the series. Faustino revealed the plans at the premiere of his former co-star Christina Applegate's new comedy Vacation (in theaters tomorrow, July 29). Faustino said, "The whole cast, including Christina, is down to do little bits in it." The show, which ran for 11 seasons on Fox until 1997, centered around the very dysfunctional Bundy family with Ed O'Neill as shoe salesman Al and Katey Sagal as his wife Peggy.
Authorities confirmed Tuesday, a body found in a trash bin at a Northern California housing complex is that of an 8-year-old girl who disappeared as she rode her scooter in the center's courtyard. The search for Madyson Middleton ended Monday night when a detective discovered the body at the artist community and housing center in Santa Cruz where the girl lived with her mother. Santa Cruz Police Chief Kevin Vogel said at a news conference, a 15-year-old boy, who also lives in the complex and knew the girl, was arrested on suspicion of murder. A motive has not yet been released.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell upheld New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady's four-game suspension Tuesday, the punishment having originally been issued May 11 as a result of the scandal now known as Deflategate. Brady appealed the decision in a hearing on June 23 that lasted more than 10 hours, but ultimately Goodell decided to keep the suspension in place.
The prison worker who helped two lethal inmates flee a New York prison has pleaded guilty to charges of aiding their escape. Joyce Mitchell, who worked in the tailor shop at the Clinton Correctional Facility stated her plea Thursday in a faintly audible voice. The 51-year-old woman faces a maximum sentence of seven years in prison under the terms of her plea deal. That deal requires Mitchell to cooperate with a probe by the state inspector general. Her lawyer stated she will not post bail.
