The National Association of Realtors said Tuesday, existing home sales showed more vigor last month, climbing to their fastest annual pace since October. Sales were up 2.6% to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5 million. But sales still trail last year's level and the supply of homes for sale — while improved from May — remains tight, Realtors say. The state of housing is being closely followed by Federal Reserve policymakers as they weigh how soon and how fast to begin tightening their easy money policies that have been in place since the financial crisis started seven years ago.

Three Americans were killed in a powerful earthquake that devastated Nepal's capital of Kathmandu on Saturday, and left at least 2,500 dead. The U.S. Department of State confirmed the deaths on Sunday, but did not provide their identities. "United States expresses its deepest condolences to family and friends of victims," it told ABC News in a statement.
Overwhelmed doctors moved hundreds of patients onto the streets of Nepal's capital on Sunday when aftershocks rattled hospitals and buildings already damaged by an earthquake that killed more than 2,400 people and devastated Kathmandu valley. Sick and wounded people lay on a dusty road outside Kathmandu Medical College while hospital workers carried more patients out of the building on stretchers and sacks. Doctors set up an operating theater inside a tent and rushed in the most critical, following a particularly big tremor that sent people running terrified into the streets.
Earlier today, ISIS militants launched a large-scale ambush on the Baiji Oil Refinery, approximately 50 kilometers north of Tikrit. Clashes have been underway for several hours and local sources have reported large billows of smoke emanating from northern areas in the refinery. While it remains unclear whether or not Islamic State terrorists breached the facility's security perimeter or how many people have been killed as a result of the violence, today's fighting comes just a few days after official announcements suggesting that the refinery had been cleared of ISIS fighters. Experts believe increased attacks on the economically vital infrastructure will expiate plans for clearing operations near the refinery, in order to remove potential launchpads for additional attacks.
Cecily Strong went in HARD on President Obama and the Secret Service with an envelope-pushing joke about cops killing black men -- and she did it just miles from the Baltimore riots over that very issue. Cecily hosted the White House Correspondents Dinner on Saturday night, and got the biggest reaction from the room when she said the Secret Service is "the only law enforcement agency in the country that will get in trouble if a black man gets shot."
