Christina Hendricks shot to stardom as part of the cast of Mad Men, but her former agent wasn't sold on the show when it was offered to her. The actress said that while she and her manager wanted her to sign on for her now famous role as Joan, her agency didn't think the show would be a hit. She explained, "They said, 'It's a period piece. It's never going to go anywhere. We need you to make money, and this isn't going to make money.' Going forward, she'd like to keep making movies and do some theater. She's currently starring in the movie God's Pocket, directed by her Mad Men co-star John Slattery and co-starring Philip Seymour Hoffman.
