Hundreds of Russian trucks carrying aid intended for rebel-held eastern Ukraine remained parked Wednesday in the southern city of Voronezh, their fate shrouded in mystery as Ukraine accused Moscow of plotting to use them as a cover for invasion. Fighting between government troops and pro-Russian separatists increased as the U.N.'s human rights office released figures showing the number of people killed in eastern Ukraine appears to have doubled in the last two weeks to more than 2,000. Ukraine and Russia on Tuesday tentatively agreed that the aid would be delivered to a government-controlled crossing in Ukraine's Kharkiv region, which hasn't been touched by the months of fighting that have wracked neighboring regions. The cargo would then have to be inspected by the International Committee of the Red Cross. But accord has soured into acrimony with the spokesman for Ukrainian President Poroshenko accusing Moscow of possibly planning a "direct invasion of Ukrainian territory under the guise of delivering humanitarian aid."
Dallas Cowboys superstar Orlando Scandrick just ended his engagement to reality star Draya Michele, and is now calling the whole thing a gargantuan mistake. Less than one month after he proposed, Orlando announced that he has made the decision to call off the engagement and permanently end the relationship he had with Draya. He added that In hindsight, it was a "poor decision" to propose, and that he is anxious to move on with his life both personally and professionally. As TMZ Sports previously reported, Orlando popped the question to the "Basketball Wives LA" star back in June with a massive diamond ring ... just one month after they had broken up. Before that, they had been dating pretty seriously for about 2 years.
A spokesman for Paula Deen says she didn't post a 2011 Halloween costume photo on her Twitter account showing her son Bobby in dark makeup as "I Love Lucy" character Ricky Ricardo. Deen spokesman Jaret Keller said Tuesday that a social media manager posted the photo taken in connection with Deen's former Food Network show. Keller added in her statement that the manager, who was not identified, was fired from Paula Deen Ventures. The photo was quickly removed Tuesday from Twitter, but not before drawing a flurry of online comments about Bobby Deen's use of makeup to portray Ricky, the fictional TV husband portrayed by Ball's real-life spouse Desi Arnaz.
Supermodel Nykhor Paul is calling it like it is. The 25-year-old South Sudanese beauty, who has walked in shows such as Vivienne Westwood, Balenciaga and Rick Owens, took to Instagram on Monday to post a heated rant aimed at makeup artists who are unequipped to work with women of color while highlighting the lack of diversity in the fashion industry.
Two days removed from winning the women's soccer World Cup, star midfielder Carli Lloyd teased the idea of capturing another one in 2019 as thousands of flag-waving fans cheered the U.S. team on Tuesday at a boisterous outdoor rally in Los Angeles. While the fans who packed the downtown celebration near the Staples Center arena strained to take pictures of the team, many of the players on stage took photos and videos of the raucous crowd. Many of the people in the crowd were dressed in red, white and blue and chanted "U-S-A, U-S-A." Sunday's victory gave the U.S. women their third World Cup championship and first since 1999.
Paula Deen is back in hot water after her latest tweet. Early Tuesday morning, the former Food Network star posted, and subsequently deleted, and 2011 image showing her dressed up as Lucille Ball's character from I Love Lucy alongside her son, Bobby Deen, who is in costume as Desi Arnaz's role of Ricky Ricardo. And while Paula is wearing a red wig to emulate Lucy's signature flaming hair, her son is shown with brown face paint to depict the Cuban-American actor. Shortly after posting the image, many commented on Paula's page that the tweet was insensitive and racist, at best.
