Prince William and Harry Regret Last Phone Call With Princess Diana

In a new HBO documentary, Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy, Prince William and Prince Harry shared fond memories of their mother Princess Diana. The documentary is a tender look back at both the good at the bad --- family photographs she had taken, the fun times she shared with her children, her divorce, her struggles with the paparazzi, her political legacy and the last time she spoke with William and Harry. William was 15, while Harry was only 12 when Diana passed away. It was summer and they were in the Scottish Highland enjoying the summer. Diana phoned them from Paris and they both recalled being eager to get off the phone and play. That would be the last time they would speak to her. Harry said, "I can't really necessarily remember what I said, but all I do remember is regretting for the rest of my life how short the phone call was. And if I'd known that that was the last time I was going to speak to my mother, the things I would have said to her." Though Harry couldn't recall precisely what Diana had said to him, William did. But he opted to keep that memory to himself. But he did say, "I think Harry and I were just in a desperate rush to say goodbye, you know, see you later, and we're going to go off, and if I'd known now, obviously, what was going to happen, I wouldn't have been so blasé about it and everything else."
