Spokesman of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Alexander Lukashevich called for an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine, on July 23. In a statement released by the Foreign Ministry, Lukashevich said that Kiev’s accusations of Russian involvement in the downing of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 were “absurd” and “absolutely groundless.”“Just like the rest of the world, Russia continues to mourn the loss of innocent lives in the MH17 crash. Those people fell victim to the war currently raging in Ukraine,” Lukashevich said. “Yet Kiev refuses to listen to reason and rejects any proposals of a ceasefire as repeatedly offered by the militia. It continues to bombard residential areas with heavy weapons, even in the immediate vicinity of the crash site.” See full statement below. Credit: YouTube/midrftube
