Stocks are closing mixed on Wall Street after a quiet day of trading. Technology stocks were a bright spot. Apple rose after a report said an updated iPhone would be announced next month and BlackBerry jumped after saying it would consider putting itself up for sale. New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg said he would appeal a federal judge's ruling that the police department's "stop and frisk" crime-fighting tactics violate constitutional rights. According to a source familiar with the matter, Benjamin Lawsky, New York's top banking regulator sent subpoenas to 22 digital-currency companies, including BitInstant and Dwolla, to determine whether new regulations should be adopted to govern the emerging industry,
