Hollywood actor and Buddhist devout, Richard Gere on Saturday said that he feels elated after visiting monasteries in India and added that following the religion has made him a calmer person. The 63-year-old American actor began his spiritual tour on Wednesday by visiting Tsuklakhang, a Buddhist monastery in Gangtok. Gere is scheduled to visit many other monasteries in Sikkim. Recounting his inclination towards Buddhism, Gere said that adopting the religion cured him of an emotional discord that he felt at a point of time.
