A cool video has emerged which gives an inside view of a huge firework wheel exploding. The footage was captured by a GoPro camera mounted on a ‘Girandola’, a horizontal firework wheel made from bamboo, at the 2014 Pyrotechnics Guild International Convention in Mason City, IA, USA earlier this month. The viewer gets to see the wheel spinning ever faster before dozens of rockets take off from its frame and explode in the evening sky.
An amusing video has emerged of a dog making bizarre noises closer to those of a bird than a canine. In the video, Molly the French bulldog makes a variety of strange noises, sounding at times like a chicken, at others closer to a goose but never anything like a dog. ---- This is my french bulldog Molly making a ridiculous "barking" sound because she was so excited. The driver of a lorry had a lucky escape on Thursday after his lorry rolled down an embankment and crashed into a hospital building in Manchester, UK. He jumped out of the cab as the vehicle rolled backwards at Wythenshawe Hospital. No-one was injured in the crash, which happened on one of the hospital’s service roads at about 8.20am local time. ----- A lorry has crashed over a wall near to the A+E department this morning at Wythenshawe Hospital in Manchester. The attempts to recover the lorry have been difficult as it has fallen down an embankment next to one of the main buildings.
A cool video has emerged form Hungary of a man creating an impressive 3D drawing of a hole trap. The speeded-up video shows artist Sandor Vamos creating his trompe-l'oeil from scratch with just pens and a sheet of paper. An elderly couple had a lucky escape on Friday when their car burst into flames in the English Lake District. William Christopher Tyrrall, 81, and his wife Brenda Tyrrall, 80, from Rochdale, Lancashire were visiting the popular tourist destination of Grasmere, when Christopher noticed smoke coming from the bonnet of the car. He tried unsuccessfully to disconnect the battery and the vehicle burst into flames. Two passersby helped to move the couple to safety. The vehicle burned for ten minutes before firemen arrived and put out the blaze. ---- Firefighters tackled a dramatic car blaze in Grasmere this afternoon. William Christopher Tyrrall 81 and his wife Brenda Tyrrall 80 from Rochdale were visiting Grasmere for the day. After returning to the car, Christopher noticed some smoke coming out of the bonnet, he tried to disconnect the battery, but couldn't and the car burst into flames. Luckily two passer bys helped out and removed the elderly couple from the scene. Local residents blocked the road and called the fire brigade. The footage was shot by Grasmere resident Martin Campbell. The car burnt for around 10 minutes before a single fire appliance arrived. They tackled the blaze, but were running out of water, they tried to connect to the water in the road, in two separate locations, but couldn't because the manhole covers were stuck fast. Luckily the appliance held enough water to put the fire out. The elderly couple were given a cup of tea and some chairs to sit on by villagers and help to return to their Hotel in South Lakes, waiting for the arrival of their by now somewhat distressed family. An amusing video has emerged of a man’s facial expressions during a bungee jump. The footage, shot on a helmet-mounted camera during a jump in Varna, Bulgaria, captures the man’s amusing facial expressions as he plummets down towards a river. “Scared to death but still willing to take the bungee jump...getting submerged into the water below did help a little bit,” he later wrote online.
