US Coast Guard Rescues 5 From Damaged Boat

The US Coast Guard rescued five people from a damaged sailboat around 200 miles off the coast of North Carolina on Friday, January 30. The boat’s mast broke while battling 40mph winds and 13-foot seas southeast of Cape Hatteras. A helicopter and airplane were launched just before 3.30pm. All five people on board were hoisted to safety by the MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew and transported to a local airport in good condition.
