Explosion Near Donetsk Chemical Factory

Heavy shelling struck east Ukraine’s Donestsk Oblast area on October 20, putting more pressure on the fragile ceasefire that was first implemented in September. It comes just three days after Russia’s Vladimir Putin and Ukraine’s Petro Poroshenko agreed to work together to enforce the ceasefire. According to a statement on the Donetsk City Council website, a “powerful explosion” struck near a “factory of chemical products” in the city.
