Royal Navy Deploys RFA Argus to Sierra Leone

Captain David Eagles of the Royal Fleet Auxiliary ship Argus, said Royal Navy personnel had spent the past week loading the aviation support ship with supplies ahead of its deployment to Sierra Leone on October 17. The RFA Argus, transporting navy and marine personnel, was to travel to the western African country to increase the United Kingdom’s response to the region’s Ebola outbreak.

Defense Secretary Michael Fallon commented on the mission: “The UK is leading the international fight against Ebola. The deployment of RFA Argus is absolutely key to that effort – not only to help save lives in Sierra Leone but also to help keep Britain safe from this terrible disease.” Credit: Facebook/Royal Navy
