Obama: America’s Economic Resurgence Is Real

In his weekly address to the nation on December 20, US President Barack Obama reflected on what he described as the “real progress” made by the US economy in 2014. “The steps we took nearly six years ago to rescue our economy and rebuild it on a new foundation helped make 2014 the strongest year for job growth since the 1990s,” said Obama.

Obama also said that US businesses created over 11 million new jobs in the previous 57 months, while wages for middle-class families were on the rise.

“As a country, we have every right to be proud – more jobs, more insured, a growing economy, shrinking deficits, bustling industy, booming energy,” said Obama. “Pick any metric you want, America’s resurgence is real.” Credit: YouTube/The White House
