Massive Waves From Hurricane Marie Pound Pier

Hurricane Marie caused a huge swell along the California coast with waves as big as 25 feet on August 27. The National Weather Service issued a warning about the waves, calling them the largest in a decade. Here, Hueneme Pier in California holds steady as it’s pounded by large waves, which almost top the pier itself. Credit: Facebook/Oxnard Firefighters IAFF Local 1684
