Lava Field Burns Through the Night in Holuhran

Volcanic activity in Iceland’s Holuhran lava field continued on September 1, after a volcanic fissure became active on the morning of Sunday, August 31, releasing smoke and flames. Reports from the country’s national broadcaster RUV indicated the severity had decreased. On the same day, the Institute of Earth Sciences in Iceland released this footage of the burning lava field.
