Kiev Protesters Call for Resignation of Defence Minister (Graphic)

Hundreds of protesters gathered outside the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence in Kiev on Thursday, August 28, to call for more government support for Ukrainian troops in the Donetsk city of Ilovaysk. Soldiers in the strategic outpost have reportedly been surrounded by pro-Russian separatists.

While the city of Donetsk continued to experience heavy shelling, Ukrainian President Petro Proshenko accused Russia of sending troops into Ukrainian territory.
