Fighters Return to Ukraine After Prisoner Swap

The Ukrainian government and pro-Russia separatists exchanged hundreds of prisoners of war north of the rebel-held city of Donetsk on December 26. According to Russian news agency Interfax, the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic and Luhansk People’s Republic released up to 150 Ukrainian forces in return for 225 rebel fighters.

The swap was confirmed by the Security Service of Ukraine in a statement that included the list of prisoners. This footage, taken by the Security Service is described as showing the return of 146 released Ukrainian fighters. Credit: YouTube/ Security Service Ukraine
