Deadly Storm Rips Through North-Rhine Westphalia

At least five people were killed when a powerful storm hit Germany’s western state of North-Rhine Westphalia on Monday evening, June, 9. A 50-year-old cyclist was killed by a falling tree in Cologne and three more people died in Dusseldorf when a tree fell on a summer house. One more person died in Essen. Small roads were closed and tram services were also suspended in Dusseldorf due to high winds.
