Australian Defence Force Makes Humanitarian Aid Drop

The Australian Defence Force made a humanitarian drop to Yezidi refugees stranded on Mount Sinjar in Iraq on August 15, The drop included nine tonnes of supplies such as high energy biscuits and bottled water. The Royal Australian Air Force C-130J Hercules humanitarian cargo was enough to feed and hydrate 3700 people for 24 hours. The ADF’s contribution in Iraq is part of a coordinated international humanitarian response.
