Young Charlotte Girl Delivers Tearful Speech to City Council

Residents packed the Charlotte City Council meeting Monday night, September 26 – the first meeting of the body since police killed Keith Scott, sparking days of protests – to talk about the killing. Young Zianna Oliphant, 9, delivered a tearful plea to the elected representatives of the city. “It’s a shame that our fathers and mothers are killed and we can’t see them anymore,” she said.
