Video Shows Enormous Plasma Eruption on Sun

NASA and the European Space Agency’s Solar and Heliospheric Observatory, or SOHO, captured the “unusually large” eruption of bright plasma that sent solar filament into space on April 28-29.

According to NASA, this footage used SOHO’s coronographs, telescopes that blocks the sun’s direct sunlight and allows scientists to see the atmosphere around the sun, to show an elongated filament that extended almost half the sun’s visible hemisphere in a burst of large plasma.
