US Coast Guard Rescues Crews From Disabled Canadian Tall Ship

The US Coast Guard saved nine people from the Canadian tall ship, Liana’s Ransom, east of Gloucester, Massachusetts, on Monday, March 30. The Coast Guard received an emergency call around 12:35 am local time from the stranded vessel, which only had limited use of the starboard engine and had its sails wrapped around the mast.

US Coast Guard crews from the Gloucester station, air station Cape Cod and cutter Ocracoke rescued nine people from the ship. Local reports said that the rescued were transferred to the Coast Guard’s motor lifeboats with one person needing treatment for a head injury.
