Trailer Park Leveled by Deadly Tornado in South Georgia

At least eight people were killed when a likely tornado ripped through the town of Adel in Cook County, Georgia, early on Sunday, January 22, damaging homes and uprooting trees, according to reports.

An estimated 40 mobile homes at the Sunshine Acres park, near Adel, were damaged or destroyed, according to The Weather Channel. This footage, shot by Nathaniel Sixberry, shows the scenes at the mobile home park after the storm hit. Sixberry was hoping to raise funds to help recovery efforts through a GoFundMe crowdfunding page.

Four people were reportedly killed in other weather-related incidents across southern Georgia on Sunday morning.

The storms came one day after a tornado killed at least four people in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

The National Weather Service warned that more storms could threaten areas in south Georgia, north Florida, and southeast Alabama, according to The Weather Channel. Credit: Facebook/Nathaniel Sixberry via Storyful
