Stranded Tourists Evacuated From Flooded Resort

As many as 84 tourists were evacuated from a luxury eco-tourism resort in Kuala Tahan, Malaysia, on December 25 due to flooding, according to reports. Tourists and staff were airlifted from the Mutiara Taman Negara Resorts and taken to nearby areas in Jeratut, Pahang. This footage shows tourists arriving by helicopter to Jeratut. Rescue operations also taking place on boats had been postponed on December 24 due to safety considerations.

Resort facilities were flooded after the heavy rains caused the water level of Sungai Tembeling river to rise to 75.76m, the highest in decades, according to local reports.
