Northern California's Rocky Fire Doubles in Size

A wildfire burning in northern California’s Lake County had expanded to 15,000 acres by Friday, destroying three homes and forcing hundreds to flee. The Rocky Fire started on Wednesday afternoon and reportedly doubled its size since late Thursday with 1,000 firefighters battling to contain the blaze.

Videos and photos shared by local residents on social media showed how the smoke from the fire clouded the sky. This video shows the glow from the fire as seen from Highway 20. Credit: Instagram/embeckwith
