Lavrov Meets Kerry at Sidelines of Iran Nuclear Talks

US Secretary of State John Kerry met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on March 29, the day prior to a crucial day of nuclear negotiations between the P5+1 – comprising the US, UK, Russia, France, China and Germany – and Iran in Lausanne, Switzerland.

When asked by a reporter if he was “optimistic” about the talks, Lavrov said, “I’m not paid to be optimistic.” Kerry, to laughter from the room, interjected and said, “You’re not paid enough to be optimistic.” Credit: YouTube/MFA Russia
