Crews Work to Remove Oil From California Coastline Following Refugio Oil Spill

The clean-up effort near California’s Refugio State Beach continued on May 23, four days after a pipeline burst and spilled 105,000 gallons of oil, 21,000 gallons of it into the Pacific Ocean north of Santa Barbara. Over 300 workers and 18 boats are involved in the clean up, with the slick now covering nine square miles. Investigators are still examining what caused the pipeline to burst. Credit: DVIDS
