Coast Guard Responds to F-16 Jet Crash in South Carolina

Rescue teams responded to a report of an F-16 crash on Tuesday, July 7, near Cooper River in South Carolina. Berkeley County officials said rescue teams were searching for two victims killed in a collision between the F-16 and a Cessna C-150 plane.

According to a statement by Shaw Air Force Base, the pilot of the 20th Fighter Wing F-16 CM Fighting Falcon was Major Aaron Johnson. He was taken to hospital after ejecting from his plane prior to the crash.
