Coalition Strikes Hit IS Ammunition Bunker in Baiji

Coalition jets targeted Islamic State facilities in Kirkuk and Baiji, Iraq on November 19, according to reports. The US Central command released this video showing a strike on an IS ammunition bunker in Baiji. At least three strikes were carried out in Baiji, according to a Centcom statement.

At least four strikes were carried out in Kirkuk on November 19. They can be seen here.

The Baiji strikes were part of Operation Inherent Resolve, which the Central Command described as “the operation to eliminate the terrorist group ISIL and the threat they pose to Iraq, the region and the wider international community.” The Iraqi armed forces reportedly pushed back IS fighters from Baiji city on November 17, entering the Baiji oil refinery for the first time since IS seized control of the grounds in June 2014.
