Ceremony Marks National Sorry Day in Shepparton, Victoria

A ceremony in the Victorian city of Shepparton marked National Sorry Day on Tuesday, May 26. A commemorative walk to LaTrobe University took place after the ceremony, which involved a performance by the Yorta Yorta dancers.

The ceremony was part of an annual nationwide day of observance to acknowledge the Stolen Generations, the children of Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders removed from their families by government agencies and church missions from the early 1900s to the 1970s.
