Miley Cyrus SNL
SNL cast member Kyle Mooney has a chance to make a sex tape with Miley Cyrus, but needs motivation from pals Beck Bennett and Bobby Moynihan.
Miley Cyrus stars as Michele Bachmann alongside John Boehner, played to golden-orange perfection by Taran Killam, to spoof her late-night party video “We Won’t Stop” and the government shutdown, while a sad Obama longingly watches the fun. #WeCanStop quickly made the rounds on Twtter when the show aired, and — consider yourself warned— we’ll never see Boehner’s backside the same way again.
Kyra welcomes her friend Lil Teenie from Hip Hop club to the show.
It was Edward Norton's first time as host of "Saturday Night Live" so, fittingly, a couple of old-timers showed up to help the rookie out. Show favorite Alec Baldwin was the first to arrive, running drills with Edward on impressions ("Woody" -- but no, not that one, Woody Harrelson). Miley Cyrus in her requisite crop-top advised Edward to keep his energy up. And his tongue out. The ulterior promotion motives were obvious: Miley's upcoming tour and Alec's new MSNBC show. But the impromptu lessons nonetheless paid off. Edward won good reviews on Twitter with his Owen Wilson impression in the spoof trailer for the horror movie, "The Midnight Coterie of Sinister Intruders" by Wes Anderson. And his Rain Man accomplice in a mobster skit was spot-on. Watch this and more of the best "SNL" moments from the Oct. 26 episode.
"Saturday Night Live" cast member Vanessa Bayer is known for her awesome Miley Cyrus impression — a skit we're hoping to see when Miley hosts tonight. This wouldn't be their first meeting. Bayer (as Miley) faced off against Miley (as Justin Beiber) in 2011. Bayer says everyone had a good time: "She had some family there, too. And they all came in so positive about the show and were so sweet about it that it made it more fun, actually." On impressions, Bayer explains that they come about in a variety of ways. Sometimes they're planned; other times they just happen. "Sometimes you'll be at the office and someone will be writing a sketch, and they'll say, 'You're going to play so-and-so.'" She said that sometimes "the ones you hear about at the last minute end up being the best ones."
