Search teams are now using the U.S. Navy's black box locator to search underwater for MH370 roughly 900 miles west of Perth, Australia. It's an area roughly the size of Kansas. The boxes will work for years, but their locator beacons will only ping for 30 days after a crash. There are only a couple days left, at best.
