External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid hopes for 'positive steps' from its nuclear-armed neighbour Pakistan after new Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif sends friendly overtures. The results of the May 11 general elections in Pakistan saw former PM Nawaz Sharif and his Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) party come back with a thumping majority, raising hopes for reconciliation with India. The Prime Ministers of both the countries invited each other for state visits, though nothing has been confirmed so far. While talking to reporters Jaipur, Khurshid said that new wave of positive signals by Sharif has brought in a new hope in the rekindling of friendly ties between the two countries.
