Filmmakers paid tribute to internationally acclaimed Indian director, Ritwik Ghatak by remaking his epic film 'Meghe Dhaka Tara' based on the socio-political environment of contemporary West Bengal during the rebel movements.The film releases on June 14 and deals with the aftermath of the Partition of Bengal and the refugees coping with it. Director of the film, Kamaleswar Mukherjee in Kolkata lauded Ghatak's works. Actor, Saswata Chatterjee who essays the role of Ghatak said that he has attempted his best to do justice to his role. 'Meghe Dhaka Tara', initially directed by Ghatak was not only a commercial success but also won accolades overseas for including innovative techniques on the lines of the 'French New Wave'.
