From Finance to Fashion, Fashion to Figure Co-Founder & CEO, Michael Kaplan, re-invents and carries on the legacy of his family’s iconic brand, plus-size women’s retailer, Lane Bryant. FTF differentiates itself from the Lane Bryant legacy by offering “Fast Fashion”, providing customers with trends fresh off the runway and great experience in store and online. Kaplan explains both brick-and-mortar and online perform together rather against each other because they can bot h be relationship driven. Since plus-size women’s retail is grossly underserved, it clearly lends to more growth and Kaplan even welcomes competition as it brings more offerings to the segment. FTF plans to expand in store and online, recently announcing a partnership with the new growth equity fund at Perella Weinberg, the company’s first institutional investor.
