Two Americans who had been working to treat Ebola patients in Africa have been stricken by the disease. Officials say they will be taken to Atlanta's Emory University Hospital in a tightly sealed isolation unit. The current outbreak in Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone has sickened more than 1,300 people and killed more than 700 this year. While the fatality rate for Ebola can be as high as 90 percent, health officials in the three countries say people have recovered from the virus and the current death rate is about 70 percent.
The Italian Coast Guard and French ships rescued at least 3,700 migrants who were attempting the dangerous Mediterranean crossing from Africa on Saturday and early Sunday. The total number of migrants rescued was unusually high for a single day, and signals that the tide of African migrants making the potentially deadly voyage has not yet been stemmed. The Coast Guard's action comes after at least 800 migrants died when their overcrowded boat struck a cargo vessel and sank off the coast of Libya on April 19, in the Mediterranean's deadliest known shipwreck.
Roger Waters is the latest artist to slam streaming music as the Pink Floyd great accused Silicon Valley execs of being "rogues and thieves" for the way they have reshaped the music industry. In a new interview, Waters talks about how difficult it is for an artist to thrive in an age where their music is nearly given away. He also clearly states that, for him, a Pink Floyd reunion "is out of the question." Waters told the Times UK, "I feel enormously privileged to have been born in 1943 and not 1983 ... When this gallery of rogues and thieves had not yet injected themselves between the people who aspire to be creative and their potential audience."

It's not just the Apple Watch that is getting turned on, thanks to a new and erotic short story genre dedicated to the wearable device. Freelance writer Leonard Delaney is the man behind the 17-page story, titled Invaded by the iWatch: An Erotic Short Story . The $2.99 e-book is the third in a series of sexy tech stories aptly named Digital Desires . The past two stories explore sexual encounters with Tetris blocks and Microsoft Word's Clippy, the little devil.
Chill, Marvel gets women. On the most recent episode of Saturday Night Live, Black Widow finally gets her own movie — although it probably isn't the one fans want. The phony trailer pokes fun at Marvel's lack of a Black Widow solo film, suggesting that the studio probably doesn't know how to make a superhero movie starring a woman. Featuring tropes typical of a bad romantic comedy, SNL's Black Widow: Age of Me trailer makes us want a real version more than ever.
