Health officials said Monday an outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus is believed to have killed at least 59 people in Guinea and may already have spread to neighboring Liberia. Health officials in Liberia said they are investigating five deaths after a group of people crossed the border from Guinea in search of medical treatment. Liberian Health Minister Walter Gwenigale said the team is tracing contacts, collecting blood samples and sensitizing local health authorities on the disease.
Harlem has been an enduring symbol of African-American political power in New York City for decades, from Adam Clayton Powell Jr.’s iconic civil rights protests to Hillary Clinton's carefully choreographed visits as she explored a Senate campaign in 1999. And for 45 years, voters in the district anchored by Harlem have sent Rep. Charles Rangel to Washington to represent them. Rangel will retire in 2016, but while the congressman hasn’t changed since 1970, the congressional district has. As Latino voters have grown in power and prominence nationally and within the Democratic Party, shifting boundaries and an influx of Puerto Rican and Dominican-American residents have also changed the fabric of Rangel’s now-majority-Hispanic district.
Chris Martin thinks Harry Styles' hair is "very attractive". The Coldplay frontman met up with the One Direction star and Selena Gomez at last weekend's American Music Awards and he couldn't get enough of the 21-year-old hunk's flowing locks. He said: "We saw One Direction on Sunday. Harry's hair - it's very attractive, even I got a little confused." Chris loves Harry's long locks so much he couldn't decide who is more attractive - the 1D star or Selena.
Expressing what has become regularly repeated frustration on the issue, President Barack Obama said on Saturday the United States needs to "do something" to make it harder for criminals to get guns after a shooting in Colorado killed three people and injured nine. Obama said it was too soon to know the Colorado Springs shooter's "so-called motive" but said the tragedy was more evidence pointing to the need to reform firearms laws. On Saturday, he said Americans could not "offer up our thoughts and prayers" for the families of the dead police officer and of the two other victims of the shooting "with a truly clean conscience" unless they also pushed for changes to make it harder to get guns.
Jeb Bush said he would support Donald Trump if the billionaire candidate were to win the Republican presidential nomination adding that "anybody is better than Hillary Clinton.” Yet, he finds that outcome unlikely because he thinks the more voters hear of Trump, particularly on foreign policy, the lower his chances are of getting the Republican nomination. Bush told CBS, “He knows what he’s saying. He’s smart. He’s playing you guys like a fiddle – the press – by saying outrageous things and garnering attention. That’s his strategy, is to dominate the news.”
Los Angeles - Leonardo DiCaprio's eyes froze shut when he was caught in a "brutal" windstorm. The 41-year-old actor was working on the set of his latest movie, The Revenant - directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu - when the crew got caught in horrific weather conditions which lasted for an hour in temperatures that dropped to minus 40. He said: "We were doing an emotional scene, and then this windstorm came, and it was just brutal. DiCaprio lived to tell the tale and admitted he was extremely grateful for a hot air blower on set which he nicknamed "the octopus".
