According to mashable.com, YouTube's iOS App is now redesigned. The video streaming service updated its iOS app, giving it a material design treatment and in-app video editing tools. YouTube also tweaked its app icon, trading in a red background for white and white play button for red. The app's previous home page design was mostly white and gray, and you accessed the navigation bar by sliding it open from the left of the screen. You can now trim your video using the app and choose from a handful of filters.
Eminem's music has inspired people of all ages all around the world—including one 10-year-old British superfan whose customized prosthetic legs have the rapper's face on them! Teejay Stainer's parents posted a picture of their son to Facebook in the hopes of getting Slim Shady's attention and it certainly did. So what did Slim send? An autographed copy of his 2010 album, Recovery, with a message that said, "To Teejay, I saw your pic and read your message! Thanks for the support!" Nicki Minaj won't apologize for calling out Miley Cyrus. The rapper's beef with the singer started in August, when Cyrus weighed in on Minaj's Twitter miscommunication with Taylor Swift . When Minaj won the VMA for Best Hip-Hop Video for "Anaconda" days later, she fired back at Cyrus, saying, "Back to this girl who had a lot to say about me the other day in the press. Miley, what's good?" Cyrus appeared to be shocked but tried to play it cool when the camera panned to her. Two months later, Minaj refused to back down. Minaj explained "The fact that you feel upset about me speaking on something that affects black women makes me feel like you have some big balls," Minaj then said Miley wants all the good aspects of black culture without acknowledging the bad aspects.
According to The Daily Beast's Goldie Taylor, entertainer 50 cent blamed a drop in Empire ratings on "extra gay stuff,” helping perpetuate the myth that most Black people are homophobic. According to Taylor, the facts say gay hatred is on the decline. On Empire, Jussie Smollett plays Jamal Lyons, a young artist that steps out of his father’s shadow by proclaiming himself an openly gay recording artist who can still make smash hits and rock a crowd. Taylor writes, "In bringing Jamal to the screen, Empire writers invested in tracing the many tentacles and complications of homophobia and afforded a cultural context rarely seen on network television."
