One of the two teenage Chinese girls who died in the Asiana plane crash at San Francisco airport on Saturday was run over by a fire truck rushing to the scene, a police department official said on Friday, though it is not known whether she was still alive at the time. A fire on an empty Boeing 787 Dreamliner plane forced Heathrow Airport to temporarily close both its runways. Heathrow said there were no passengers aboard the Ethiopian Airlines plane, which was parked at a remote stand of the airport. Stunned and bleeding after a Boeing 777 crashed-landed at San Francisco International Airport, hundreds of passengers staggered across the debris-strewn tarmac, some trying to help the critically injured, others desperately calling 911 and begging for more ambulances as dire minutes ticked away. Two people died and 180 of the 307 passengers were hurt when Asiana Airlines Flight 214 slammed tail-first into a seawall at the end of the runway.
