Parn and Samberg are back.
Conservative Americans did not enjoy the Supreme Court rulings that came at the end of June, bemoaning the decisions that helped save Obamacare and that granted marriage equality to gays and lesbians. Fortunately, they have their good ol' buddy Jon Stewart and The Daily Show to make them feel better. Stewart pointed out a couple Supreme Court victories for the right. One was a ruling that allowed continued use of midazolam, a controversial sedative used in executions, and the other was a ruling that struck down the Environmental Protection Agency's power plant regulations. Said Stewart, "So, yes, gay people have the right to marry and poor people have the right to insurance, but on the bright side, Americans can still kill prisoners painfully and everyone else slowly. Yay."
Danielle Brooks, aka Taystee from Orange Is The New Black, made her late night show debut a memorable one with a bleep-filled performance of her rap from OITNB's first season. When she was done, the audience applauded, Andy Richter grinned and applauded, while Conan was left flustered. *facepalm*
Jon Hamm stopped by The Daily Show With Jon Stewart on Tuesday night and remembered all of the times the host crooned some tunes on the show. We got to see 16 years worth of ditties in a neat little three minute long package.
Jon Stewart took time on The Daily Show Monday to celebrate the recent Supreme Court decision that granted marriage equality to gay and lesbian Americans and to make fun of the vitriol coming from conservatives over it. Stewart, told those who oppose the ruling, "Your problem here is bald faced out in the open common sense experience, that's why you're not going to win the marriage equality fight." He then used a clip of Trump admitting that it's a fair point in how it's hypocritical for him to demand "traditional marriage" only when he himself has been wed to three different women. Said Stewart, "You're not going to win the marriage equality fight because even a man pathologically disposed to not understand other people's points of view, unless it is also labeled Trump, even he gets it."
