More Even in the elite company of "Saturday Night Live" cast icons, Darrell Hammond stands out. On the show from 1995-2009, his was the longest-running tenure. He also holds the record for the most celebrity impressions (107), and was the oldest cast member to leave the show when he departed at age 53. His "SNL" feats are especially impressive considering struggles behind the scenes. Abused as a child Hammond was plagued by offscreen anxiety. As he told NPR in 2011, the producers "were extremely helpful to me. They made considered decisions over whether I was going to be able to put the ball over the fence — whether [being on SNL] was jeopardizing my health or actually helping me to have this giant project to pour my life into. That was a delicate balance for them, and not one that they should have had to go through." The rest of the list for longest tenures includes Seth Myers (12 seasons), Al Franken (11), Fred Armisen (11), Tim Meadows (10), and Kenan Thompson (10). Less
