Charlize Theron's First 'SNL' Monologue

by Saturday Night Live 3:33 mins

Charlize Theron returns to host "Saturday Night Live" on May 10. When the star first hosted in 2000, she learned during her monologue that she has an unlikely bond with then-cast member Tracy Morgan. In the clip, Morgan jumps in after Theron explains that she was born in South Africa and now lives in America. Morgan’s logic: Her upbringing makes her, like Morgan, an African American. "Wow, I guess I am," the tall blonde says. "I never thought of it that way… you're right, people always think I'm Swedish or German, but I'm African American.” "Damn, it's about time they let a sister host this show," Morgan jokes. (By the way, the segment is worth watching for Theron's turn-of-last century getup alone: the tank top, the flared pants, and especially, that choker.) The actress is about to show her funny side in the comedy "A Million Ways to Die in the West." We're betting her "SNL" gig will give us a taste of what she can do. — Claudine Zap (@zapkidd)
