Jon Stewart took time on The Daily Show Monday to celebrate the recent Supreme Court decision that granted marriage equality to gay and lesbian Americans and to make fun of the vitriol coming from conservatives over it. Stewart, told those who oppose the ruling, "Your problem here is bald faced out in the open common sense experience, that's why you're not going to win the marriage equality fight." He then used a clip of Trump admitting that it's a fair point in how it's hypocritical for him to demand "traditional marriage" only when he himself has been wed to three different women. Said Stewart, "You're not going to win the marriage equality fight because even a man pathologically disposed to not understand other people's points of view, unless it is also labeled Trump, even he gets it."
Tama the cat, who died of heart failure at age 16 (that’s about 80 in human years) is credited with saving a Japanese railway line from financial ruin.
Contrary to reports, a rainbow over a recent Grateful Dead show was naturally produced, not created for $50,000.
On Jeopardy Monday, host Alex Trebek was reading clues under the "TV" category and then got to one that showcased his skills as a rapper. Trebek put his own unique take on Will Smith's lyrics to the theme song of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, rapping, "I pulled up to the house about 7 or 8 and I yelled to the cabbie, 'Yo homes, smell ya later.'" It wasn’t the first time Trebek has displayed his lyrical spitfire. In a classic episode of Jeopardy from January 2014 he rapped an entire category. Audiences at home had their ear buds treated to Trebek rapping lines like Dr. Dre’s “Never let me slip, ‘cause if I slip, then I’m slippin’” and Biggie’s “I made the change from a common thief to up close and personal with Robin Leach.” The people in charge of the long-running game show must have enjoyed the attention Trebek’s flow received online because just a few months later, Trebek was rapping more lyrics. There’s just something in the way he says “Sabotage,” I suppose. Jeopardy is a nationally syndicated program. Check your local listings for its airtime.
