The Israeli military says three rockets have been fired from Gaza at Israel despite a proposed extension of a humanitarian truce in the Gaza war. Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri said the group rejected Israel's proposal to extend an original 12-hour lull by four hours, until midnight Saturday. The military says the rockets were fired more than an hour after the period for the initial lull had ended. Meanwhile, the military warned residents of areas where there had been heavy fighting against returning there.
For the first time in 40 years, visitors to the White House can take pictures and use social media during public tours of "the nation's house." But they'll still have to leave their selfie sticks at home. First Lady Michelle Obama made the announcement in an Instagram video showing her tearing the "no photos or social media allowed" sign in half. In making the announcement, the White House said "Visitors are also encouraged to share their experience using the hashtag #WhiteHouseTour." Video cameras, including any action camcorders, cameras with detachable lenses, tablets, tripods, monopods, and camera sticks are still banned from White House tours.
Sources tell TMZ that Jennifer Garner reached her breaking point with Ben Affleck 's drinking and gambling, and that's why she called pulled the plug on their marriage. TMZ say Ben's drinking and gambling have escalated over the last few years to the point "she couldn't take it anymore." The other thing TMZ's Ben sources say ... he wins big in gambling. Sources say "partying" had nothing to do with their problems. Ben did not go out and did not womanize ... Jen complained he just drank and gambled too much. The sources say it's really just about 2 people who want to live their lives differently. His people say they've been in therapy for more than 2 years -- he even mentioned his marital problems during his 2013 Oscar acceptance speech. They add the couple has been separated for 10 months, so there was no recent "breaking point."
The Americans had a slow start in this Women’s World Cup. Possession was sloppy, the midfield disjointed, and chances were wasted. USA was winning games, but in ways where it always seemed like the team could crumble at any moment. But the USA coach, Jill Ellis, it appears, was playing the long game. The team’s motto is to “peak at the right time” and USA certainly peaked against a fierce and talented Germany to secure a spot in the final.

Message received, Igloo Australia: You and Britney Spears have not been engaged in a passive aggressive Twitter fight. The very Earth quaked earlier this week when rapper Iggy Azalea tweeted a few completely innocent, not-at-all snarky messages that only appeared to blame Spears for the flop that was their would-be song of the summer, "Pretty Girls." Azalea remarked that the song hadn't been promoted enough, which wasn't her fault — she said, "unfortunately im just featured [on it]" — and that there was nothing wrong with her implicitly calling out Spears for not doing enough to sell the single. According to Azalea, there's nothing to see here. Her words and intent have simply been twisted by a bloodthirsty media eager to pit two female celebrities against each other... and "at the end of the day," the whole brouhaha will only give her and Britney "another thing for us to laugh at over lunch."
