REally? Commercials while I watch commercials?

after all the monthly charges one pays just to have access to tv in general, why is it mandatory to be waching commercials? they shove it up our throught every two minutes and it is annoying as heck..personally I am sick and tired of all commercials.. never watch them and got to the point not watching tv either...same thing applies to the internet, radio stations and so on..cannot enjoy any of it...why so much commercials? what's the point?
