With roots in Bangladesh, a lot many artists have chronicled the pain and agony of Liberation time and again. Speaking exclusively to ANI, noted Bengali film maker, writer and poet Buddhadeb Dasgupta gave insights into how the partition of 1947 impacted the Bengali arts, writings and films. The winner of several National Film Awards reveals how Bengali art and literature reflect the angst of the Partition. Speaking fondly of his grandmother, who wanted to be in Bangladesh till her last breath, Dasgupta said emotional up rootedness was very dangerous. Being an artist, Dasgupta doesn't believe in borders, however, he hopes to see open borders between India and Bangladesh at some point of time.
