WFP on Plight of Thousands of CAR Refugees

The World Food Programme (WFP) detailed the plight of refugees from the Central African Republic (CAR) in a video released June 12. The video features a woman called Mairamou, who fled gunfire near her home and spent days in the bush before arriving at the Lolo Refugee Camp in Cameroon.

Mairamou says her village was attacked one morning, and “they killed everyone they could”. She and others fled on foot. WFP says it is helping refugees in the camp fight malaria and diarrhea. Credit: YouTube/World Food Programme
